North Branch of the Raritan River
Aquatic Habitat Restoration
This section of the river flows through a property that is leased by a private fishing group. Urbani Fisheries in conjunction with the NRCS, the private fishing group and Trout Unlimited worked for three years through the permitting process to eventually begin the restoration work on April 24th and completed on April 30th.

The scope of work included restoration and habitat enhancement for adult and juvenile trout on 2,690 linear feet of river. Work included river survey, river & habitat assessment, river design, agency site reviews, re-organization of existing structures, pool and riffle creation, point bar creation, riverbank stabilization by thalweg re-direction and boulder cluster placement.
